The landscape of employee benefits has evolved dramatically. In the late 1990s, when I began my career as an advisor, employers offered robust benefits with minimal premiums. Today, the average annual employee premium has skyrocketed to nearly $10,000, a stark indication of the pressing need for informed decision-making in this area.

Premium growth has outpaced inflation and wage increases, changing the dynamics between employer and employee.

Unfortunately, during that time, we’ve seen massive increases in obesity, diabetes, and nearly all general health trends in America.

Yet, employers, in most cases, are still being offered similar options with little customization, innovation or strategic vision.

The Employee Benefits Advisor exists to change that.

The Employee Benefits Advisor will primarily focus on conversations and feedback about the ever-evolving continuum of solutions available to employers to improve their employees' experience as we move forward.

However, we're also passionate about personal wellbeing. Specifically, we enjoy learning and sharing ideas directed around the concept of a growth mindset. We are fascinated by how individuals can become their most genuine, unique, and best selves.

To achieve the best outcomes within our health plans, we also have to help people attain the best outcomes in their own lives - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For better or worse, the two are intricately connected.

For that reason, we have unified those topics under this publication.

As an employee benefits advisor, I have a unique perspective on well-being. More often than not, organizations are the sum of the people working within. I'm passionate about helping both - the individual and the organization. Here, I attempt both.
